Our First Second-Annual Event

This was our second flagship event at the Ent Center For the Arts.

Our 19 speakers took the stage at 10 AM, and were joined that day by 8 performance poems, a dance team, and some beautiful instrumental acts.

Laurel Williams

Cesar Cervantes

Your boss probably isn’t funny. And they don’t have much in common with a stand-up comedian, or at least that’s what you might think. Cesar Cervantes explores the relationship between leaders and stand-up comedians — from bombing to thriving. Former college dean, comedian and founder of Stand-Up At Work, Cesar Cervantes believes everyone should try stand-up comedy. After years of teaching his course, Stand-Up Comedy Writing & Performance at Colorado College, he began to see relationship between comedy and leadership. Cindi Bright

Cindi has made a career of consulting on various diversity related issues, and often highlights how she’s half German and half Arkansas descent. She summarizes her talk in this simple phrase: “I am not who you think I am. You are who you think I am.” She says the shape of our hearts informs how we see those we live and work with, and her talk will explore how that awareness applies to our individual lives, and our country as a whole.

Russell Klimas

Do you wonder if there is still magic in this world? With light painting photography, we explore the seemingly infinite possibilities of what you can create with long exposures, and anyone can do it. When Russell Klimas takes a liking to something he goes HARD. In the span of two years, he has been published on multiple online photography blogs such as Petapixel and DIYPhotography, as well as his work appearing in the Daily Mail UK, Fox, and the Japanese show Tokudane! Currently, he’s sponsored by Lumecube and Ants On A Melon for his work with their tools to create light paintings. He’s also developed techniques for using drones to light paint in ways that aren’t widely used and is continually pushing light painting to its utmost limits. Since this talk was filmed he’s already created the next idea that hasn’t been done before.
