Rick Raddatz

Rick began his career at Microsoft in the 1980s and then became a successful serial entrepreneur in the early 2000s. In 2006, Rick put his business ventures on hold and dedicated himself full time to finding a solution to our political divide. Since then, Rick has traveled the nation many times, talked to thousands of people from all points of view, and consulted with hundreds of PhDs. In his presentation, Rick will share what he learned about our political divide on his journey. Normally we think of restorative justice as something that is needed at the individual level or the community level.  In Rick’s presentation, he challenges us to think bigger as he tries to tackle the question of how to heal our political divide.  E.g., How do we restore justice on a scale this big?  How can we restore justice when we’ve never truly had justice?  How can we achieve justice when even reasonable people can’t agree? In Rick’s presentation, Rick will propose a new, more complete way to view all of society’s biggest issues, along with a proposal for how we might make real progress.

Danielle Barton

Danielle is an entrepreneur focused on innovative ways to grow her business while giving back to the community she was raised in. She is the owner of Clean Break Cleaning Services, as well as Danielle Barton’s story, a platform to discuss life’s challenges surrounding incarceration. Danielle is driven by the desire to evoke change through her story. Danielle is on the board of The Success Collective, a group of entrepreneurs in Colorado Springs that focuses on community support and involvement.  As a Colorado Springs native, Danielle and her family spend as much time taking advantage of all the beautiful things the city has to offer. What Danielle enjoys most is making connections with people who have experienced trauma and setbacks. Her goal is to break down the stigmas that stand in the way of success after failure.  Danielle is trying to use her story to challenge the way we think about incarceration as a community. She wants to reinvent the outlook of personal responsibility and community obligation to find a meeting ground that allows room for success. She hopes to be an example of the change that can happen when we all work together to make it possible.
